If you have tried ice skating and you enjoy the thrill of going fast, then they olympic sport of Short Track Speed Skating may be just what you are looking for. Learn to skate fast confidently and develop agility, co-ordination, strength and stamina through fun games, relays, racing and obstacle courses.
Dress warmly and bring gloves, socks, long pants and jumper. Bring a helmet if you have one. You can wear our regular hire skates or we have a supply of speed skates (the really long blades!!) you can try when you are ready.
Remember you can use your active kids vouchers for this class (only $44 with Active Kids Voucher).
Includes:
1 x 45min class at designated time each week
Free rental equipment including speed skates and helmet.
Want to come Monday and Saturday? Get a discounted rate on the second class ($123) for the term.
If you are already participating in a Learn to Skate Class, then you can purchase a Learn to Skate - Ice Sports Combo for $308, which includes your regular lesson, one practice and one speed school class each week (as well as unlimited public sessions during the term).
CASUAL RATE
Skaters may come for a casual Speed School class for $18 per session.
* No classes on 10th - 14th June.
This can be done either at the rink in person or over the phone. The rink has adopted a cashless environment so all payments including in the canteen will be with card only.
If you have an Active Kids voucher you may use that for a Speed School Term. Bring your voucher in when paying for the term to be redeemed.
If you are just coming casually to Speed School you will need to fill out a registration form (on your first visit).
