I have passionately been involved with coaching Figure Skating for the past twenty four years, taking skaters from beginners right through to international competitions and World Championships. I specialize in figure skating (spins and jumps) and synchronized skating (team event – Majestic Ice). In addition to coaching the skills of ice skating I have mentored kids and showed them the importance of hard work and persistence.
I have the highest level of Accreditation – Level 3 in both Figure Skating and Synchronized Skating.
As a result of my achievements as a figure skating coach I have been selected to attend countless coaching and officiating seminars around the World. In 2006 I was selected by Ice Skating Australia to attend an intense training course in Germany in which I was able to formally prove my knowledge of the sport of Figure Skating, becoming qualified among one of the very few ISU Technical Specialists in the World, in the last few years I have acted as Technical Specialist at 2008 Spring Cup, Milan; 2009 Junior World Challenge Cup; 2011 Junior World Challenge Cup in Switzerland; 2012 World University Games in Turkey, 2012 Reime Matilda International in France, 2013 Snowflake Trophy Croatia. In 2014 I was selected to be on the Technical Panel at the World Championships in Italy and this year at the World Championships in Hungary. In addition I have attend coaching seminars in Hungary, Germany, Switzerland, USA and Canada. I have been team coach at 5 World Synchronized Skating Championships, 2 Junior World Championships and 16 International events, a lot of my time is spent giving seminars and mentoring up and coming coaches in my sport.
I enjoy taking skaters from grassroots, I find if skaters have good basics the rest falls into place. Good, solid basics and correct technique is the key. I would be happy to advise you on the best way moving forward for your child in this fantastic sport of figure skating, please feel free to call me anytime to discuss lessons for your child.
