No outside food or drink is to be brought into the rink.
You are required to leave as soon as possible at the end of the Public Session.
Skate Hire tickets are valid for one session only.
Skate Sharpening is available from the ISkate shop situated in the rink. Check for hours of business first.
Our rental skates are sharpened continuously every week.
Generally we do not offer any discounts for arriving late to a session. We may offer you a discount if you arrive within the last half-hour of the session, at the discretion of management at time of purchase.
Group Discounts are available. Please see our Group Booking Information on this site.
We do not offer pensioner discounts or concessions due to our policy.
Public sessions are an opportunity to skate recreationally. The rink does not provide lessons in these sessions. See details under Learn to Skate for Skate School information and lessons.
We have a limited number of Kangaroo skating aids available for hire. These may be used by children under the age of 12 who are finding it difficult to skate unaided, and by their parents/carers to be able to push the child around. Cost is $10 to hire, and they are only available during our general public sessions (not allowed during disco sessions).
We do permit wheelchairs onto the ice during certain quiet or designated sessions, subject to prior approval by Management. Please email admin@canterburyolympicicerink.org.au
You do not need to book for Public Sessions, Skate School Lessons or School Holiday Lessons, however we do advise to arrive early to give yourself time to find parking and fit your skates ready for the start of the session or lesson.
A Family Pass constitutes 2 Adults (16 years and over) and 2 Children (5 – 15 years), or 1 Adult and 3 Children. The Family Pass includes free skate hire in the price, and is valid for public and disco sessions.
You must advise the manager on duty if you are leaving the rink for a short time during a session.
Yes, a bulk payment is required for any Group Booking. All skaters must also come into the rink in one group.
You will be required to book in for a 9 week term of skate school classes.

You should arrive at least 30 minutes before you are due to get on the ice. This is to allow time for parking, admission into the rink, any required registration and fitting of skates so you are ready to go for the start of your class. Please note that your practice time may be before your lesson time, check the Term 1 class timetable if you are unsure.
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way or an illness or injury may make it difficult to attend a class. We offer up to two make up classes per term. If you cannot make a class please email admin@canterburyolympicicerink.org.au and we will reschedule a make up either on another time, during the week that the same level is held, during the school holidays,k or during a drop-in class. These make ups cannot be transferred to another term or for a refund. Any missed classes that have not been made up before the start of the next term will be forfeited.
Testing takes place in the final week of the term. Once a skater is competent in all of the skills for that level they will be passed by their instructor and can move up to the next level. There is also allowed some movement in the first two weeks of the term, if we havent put you in the right class or you are picking things up really quickly and mastered all the skills for that level in a short time.
Yes we accept active kids vouchers for any of our term programs. Simply bring your voucher in when you are booking in for the term and we will process this. Please note we do not accept creative kids vouchers, just the active kids ones.
As part of our Skate School we run Ice Hockey and Speed Skating development programs.

Our special offer is for purchasing multiple tickets for our school holiday lessons.
3 tickets for $80 or 5 tickets for $120.
These may be multiple tickets for one skater on different days, or for multiple skaters on the same day.
Tickets must be purchased in the same transaction, and the discount will automatically be applied at checkout. Eg. if you purchase 4 tickets, you would pay $110 (3 for $80 plus 1 at $30).

In addition to the Birthday cake, you may only bring in one small platter of outside food (e.g. sandwiches, fruit etc).

If you wish to dress the table with any additional items prior arrangements must be made withe the Party Coordinator for approval. Rink staff set up tables and chairs, inlcuding; tablecloth, balloons, paper plates, napkins, plastic cutlery, candles, lighter and cake knife.

Yes, a tab may be established for items purchased by party guests. See Canteen staff on the day who will be happy to accommodate your guests orders.
Kids Parties are recommended for children aged 6 - 16 years. Children under 6 years are generally not permitted on the ice during the Party Lesson.
Children under 6 years are generally not permitted on the ice during the Party Lesson. Kids under 6 years old who are accompanied by a paying parent may be allowed to skate during the lesson, subject to approval by Rink management. Please discuss with us when making your booking if you would like this to be considered for your party.
We encourage you to book your party in as early as possible. To ensure you get your desired party date, we advise to book approx 6-8 weeks prior.
Confirmation of the final number of guests attending and chosen food option must be confirmed via phone or email by the Wednesday prior to your party date with the Party Coordinator. In the case of your food option not being confirmed at the time of your booking we will default to the "Bronze Food Package".
No changes may be made to final numbers after a full payment has been confirmed for a party booking. Any additional party guests will be charged at the rate of $22.00 per person (Skating Lesson & Public Session ONLY. Food not included).
You will be required to pay in full for a confirmed number of guests by the Wednesday prior to your party date, which may be paid over the phone via EFTPOS or in person at the ice rink. No changes to final numbers will be accepted after this time. Proceeding with final payment means you understand and agree to out Terms & Conditions. Unfortunately cancellation of a booking is an automatic forfeit of any payments made. Any additional guests on the party day will be charged at the rate of $20.00 per person (Skating Lessons & Public Session ONLY. Food not included).
We can have up to 5 parties in one sitting. Tables are set up based on numbers not exceeding 20 guests per party.
All parties have a minimum of 10 guests. Our maximum is set at 20 guests. If you would like to have more than 20 guests at your party please discuss this when making your booking and we will do our best to accommodate you. Our party host to guest maximum ratio is 1:20. For parties of 21 or more guests you will have a second host included in your package. A surcharge of $50 applies for parties with 21 or more guests. We cannot accept any parties of more than 30 guests under any circumstances.
Party guests are given safety guidelines and skating instructions during the 30 minute lesson. Having parents on the ice at this time can be distracting for the party guests. Parents are strongly encouraged to watch their child from the grandstands during the lesson and may then join their child on the ice during the Public Session. Disocunted admission price will apply.
A parent of the birthday child skates complimentary during the Party Lesson & Public Session. Other party guests & parents are strongly encouraged to watch from the grandstands during the duration of the lesson & to join the fun during the Public Session. Party guests wanting to skate in the Public Session will be granted FREE skate hire when purchasing Rink Admission. For example: Child $18.00 or Adult $21.00.
Each party will be designated their own colour to coordinate with wristbands and Party Host vests.
All shoes are placed in tubs provided and then located at the party table for durations of party.
Please wear enclosed shows, sock, warm comfortable clothing and gloves. The use of protective gear (e.g. inline helmet) is strongly encouraged and available for use on the day of your party, free of charge at Skate Hire.
Our party hosts are accredited coaches who provide skating instructions and safety guidelines during the 30-minute lesson. If it is appropriate, games such as limbo may be incorporated into the lesson based on the ability of guests to skate safely. We do not offer any prizes.
